Appendix is a series of photographs depicting the city of Rome. Christian Belgaux spent two weeks there in 2010, half of which he spent in the hospital with appendicitis, sharing room with a Moroccan heroin dealer who had been stabbed near the heart. The book depicts religious symbols, night clubs, commuters and hospital interiors, taking the reader on a purgatorial journey through the city.
